Yang Qingyuan

Violin / China

Qingyuan Yang is 15 years old and started learning the violin at the age of 6. From the age of 9 he studied at the Affiliated Middle School of the Central Conservatory of Music under violinist Zhang ti and Wang Jiazhi. In 2023 he began studies at the Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK with Professor Robin Wilson.

Qing yuan has had much success in international competitions. In 2023 he won 2nd Prize in the Grumiaux International Violin Competition and in 2022 won 2nd Prize in the Zhuhai Mozart International Competition. At the age of 11, he won the 1st Prize in the professional group at the 4th Singapore International Music Festival Music Competition and at the age of 9 won 1st Prize in the Hohhot International Summer Camp Violin Competition and 1st Prize in the China & South Korea International Competition. In July 2024 he was chosen to participate in the Morningside Music Bridge. And in August 2024 he won 3rd Prize in The Tibor-Varga International violin competition. In July 2025 he was chosen to participate in the Morningside Music Bridge again.

Outside of the violin Qing yuan enjoys tennis, maths and reading.
