Cello / Latvia

From an early age, I attended piano lessons in kindergarten 1-2 times a week. Graduating from kindergarten – in 2013 I entered the Jugla Music School (at the age of 6) in the cello class. In 2015, I transferred to the Jāzeps Mediņa Rīgas 1st Music School and continued to study cello with teacher Anita Roze. In the year of 2023 to now, I have continued to study in Jāzepa Mediņa Rīgas 1st Music School – highschool programme.

I am a laureate of many international and local competitions, for example – both times (in 2018 and 2023) I won 1st place in the Latvian State Competition in String Instrument category – Cello Playing. In 2018, I won 1st place and a special prize in the IX International Young Musicians Competition – VIVA LA MUSICA. In the International Talent Center Competition – RISING STARS – I won Grand Prix 2019. In the 7th Jan Sibelius International Instrumental Music Competition in Finland 2019, I won the main prize – YOUNG TALENTS – in the age group 12-16 years. I participated in the Riga Ball in 2019, where I received a new cello as a gift with the participation of the Children’s Foundation. In Dolny Kubin, Slovakia, I won 2nd place in the 25th International Bohdan Warchal Competition in the string instrument category. I won 1st place in the 16th International Jan Vičitil Cello Competition in Prague. I won 3rd place and a special prize for the best performance for a participant under 17 years of age at the 8th Agustin Aponte International Music Competition in 2023 in Spain – Tenerife. In 2023, I won the Ministry of Culture Award for achievements in international competitions. In 2024, I won 3rd place and the opportunity to perform in the final concert with the Liepājas Symphony Orchestra at the Valdis Vikmanis Latvian Young Performers Competition.
