Joana Soares-winner of last year’s competition-will play with the Silesian Philharmonic.

2 September 2022

We are proud of our laureates!

On 23 September, a symphonic concerto will take place – the main stage of the Zagłębie Palace of Culture will once again be hosted by Joana Soares – a Portuguese oboist, winner of the 13th Michał Spisak International Music Competition. The winner will perform together with the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Yaroslav Shemet. Among the presented repertoire there will be numerous film motifs – true classics, such as the famous waltzes from Trędowata or Ziemia Obiecana (Polish movies) and the polonaise from Pan Tadeusz (Polish movie), a composition by Wojciech Kilar. In addition, we will also hear works by Mozart, Górecki and Spisak.

Joana is currently an oboist at the National de Bretagne (French symphony orchestra), with whom she frequently gives concerts both nationally and internationally.

Below there is a photographic recollection of last year’s laureates’ concert, at which Joana Soares performed.
