Aneta Dumanowska, PhD, Prof. at AMKP

Viola / Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków

Born in Krakow. She studied at the Academy of Music in Krakow from 1991 to 1996 in the violin class of Prof. Mieczysław Szlezer. In 1996, she began studies in the viola class of Prof. Janusz Pisarski, which she completed with distinction in 1999. Her artistic achievements include numerous solo and chamber concerts. She has performed as a soloist with the Radio Symphony Orchestra in Krakow, with the Symphony and Chamber Orchestras of the Academy of Music in Krakow, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Capella Cracoviensis, and at festivals: International Festival Music in Old Krakow, International Festival of Contemporary Music – Days of Krakow Composers’ Music, Festival Pablo Casals in Prades (France), and Opera Rara. Since 2006, she has been the violist of the DAFO quartet. The ensemble’s artistic achievements include numerous concerts in Poland and abroad, as well as recorded albums that have received awards such as: Fryderyk 2009 for the album “Speechless Song” with music by Paweł Mykietyn, Fryderyk 2012 and Gold Album status for the CD/DVD live album “Łukaszewski i Bembinow – Kolędy i pastorałki” (Carols and Pastoral Songs), Supersonic Pizzicato – an award from the Luxembourg publisher Pizzicato for the album featuring Krzysztof Penderecki’s music “String Quartets, String Trio, Clarinet Quartet” containing all the composer’s chamber works with the world’s first recording of the Third String Quartet. From 2012 to 2014, she was a member of a piano quartet alongside the renowned violinist Kaja Danczowska, pianist Justyna Danczowska, and cellist Bartosz Koziak, performing at Poland’s most prestigious music venues. From 1997 to 2016, she played with the Orchestra of the Royal Capital City of Krakow, Sinfonietta Cracovia. Since 2021, she has led master classes at the Summer Music Academy in Krakow. A dedicated educator, she has been affiliated with the Academy of Music in Krakow since 2001. She earned her Doctor of Arts degree in 2013 and Habilitation (postdoctoral degree) in 2018.
