Trombone / Prof. at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice

Graduate of the Academy of Music in Katowice. Participant of mastercourses conducted by Prof. W. Krzystek, Dr S.C. Anderson, Prof. E. Chasanov, among others. He is currently working as an artist musician – trombone soloist at the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. As a musician of this orchestra he has made about 70 foreign tours – he has taken part in about 800 concerts at home and abroad. He has participated in the most important national music festivals, such as: Warsaw Autumn, Music in Old Cracow, Wratislavia Cantans. His archival recordings include around 6 500 minutes of music by both Polish and foreign composers. Recordings for such companies as Naxos, Accord and Polskie Nagrania are also worth mentioning. He has participated in the recording of about 75 albums. At the same time he collaborates with many orchestral and chamber ensembles. Particularly noteworthy is his collaboration with the trombone quartet of the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, of which he is co-founder and also the principal trombonist. He is a regular collaborator of the Rybnik Philharmonic and the Orchestra of the Capital City of Cracow – Sinfonietta Cracovia. He has performed as a soloist on many concert stages. The most important are recitals within the framework of the Trombone Festival in Warsaw in 1997 and 2003, twice within the framework of Międzynarodowe Kursy Gry na Instrumentach Dętych w Dusznikach Zdroju (literal translation from Polish: International Courses of Playing Wind Instruments in Duszniki Zdroj) in 1997 and 2002 and a recital at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.  Since 1994, he has worked at the Karol Lipinski Academy of Music in Wroclaw, and since 2004 also at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. As a pedagogue, he has conducted numerous masterclasses at, among others: Chain Festival – Trombone Week in Enschede, XV i XX Wakacyjny Kurs Interpretacji Gry na Instrumentach Dętych w Dusznikach Zdroju (literal translation from Polish: the 15th and 20th Summer Course of Interpretation of Playing Wind Instruments in Duszniki Zdroj). He has been repeatedly invited to be a jury member in many national music competitions. He is also active as a consultant to pedagogues teaching trombone classes in music schools of the first and second degree.
