A renowned violinist – soloist and chamber musician. He graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice in the class of Prof. Roman Lasocki and from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under Prof. Herman Krebbers. He is a laureate of violin competitions in Poznań (Zdzisław Jahnke Competition), Warsaw (Tadeusz Wroński Competition), and Brescia (Italy), as well as a first-prize winner at chamber music competitions in Copenhagen and Sondershausen (in the Aristos string trio).

He has performed as a soloist with leading Polish orchestras, including the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, and most of the philharmonic orchestras in the country. Since 2001, he has been the first violinist of the Silesian Quartet, with which he regularly performs worldwide. The ensemble is a laureate of many prestigious awards and distinctions, including ten Fryderyk Awards, the Gramophone Classical Music Award for the complete recording of Grażyna Bacewicz’s string quartets (2017), and the Coryphaeus of Polish Music Award (2019).

The artist collaborates on a permanent basis with the pianist Wojciech Świtała, with whom he has recorded the complete violin sonatas by Johannes Brahms for Sony Classical Poland. He is also a member of the Wajnberg Trio. He has recorded over 50 albums of solo and chamber music, and recordings with his participation have been released by such labels as EMI Music Poland, ECM, Chandos, Denon, Naxos, BIS, CD Accord, DUX and Dacapo.

Szymon Krzeszowiec is closely associated with the Ensemble Chamber Music Festival, and holds artistic supervision over the Zakopane Academy of Art and the Mieczysław Wajnberg International Violin Competition in Katowice. He is also involved in pedagogy, heading the String Instruments Department and teaching a violin class at his alma mater. He is frequently invited to serve as a juror for national and international violin competitions.
