Bartłomiej Dobrowolski is a graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice in the clarinet class of Prof. Arkadiusz Adamski. He is currently a doctoral student at the same university and solo clarinettist of the Kalisz Philharmonic. He is the winner of numerous solo and chamber music competitions, e.g. 3rd prize and statuette in the 8th Michał Spisak International Music Competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza (2014), 3rd prize at the 51st Karol Kurpiński Polish Nationwide Competition, 17th Academic Clarinet Competition (2018), 1st prize at the 5th Chamber Tournament W trzech odsłonach (2018), 2nd prize and Musica Solis special prize, D’Addario Woodwinds special prize at the International Clarinet Contest during the 8th Clarinet Festival of the European Clarinet Society (2018), as well as 3rd prize at the 16th International Clarinet Competition Saverio Mercadante (2020).
As a soloist, he has performed with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Symphony Orchestra of Zabrze Philharmonic, Inter CAMERATA Chamber Orchestra and Opole Philharmonic Orchestra. He cooperates with the leading Polish orchestras, such as Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, New Music Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy – AUKSO. He is a winner of the scholarship of the Rector of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and Young Poland scholarship programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. He has also recorded Concerto Grosso no. 2 per 5 clarinetti ed orchestra by Krzysztof Penderecki, which was released on the Penderecki album (released by DUX). The album was nominated for Fryderyk music award in the Album of the year – concerting music category. The recording was made with Polish Sinfonia Iuventus under Maciej Tworek.
