He is a violist. He is the student of Nian Liu. He graduated from the Affiliated High School of Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Fang Yekun had won the first prize of the Rocky Mountain International String Competition in Canada. He has passion on exploring solo repertoire for viola in concerts. He has left his footprints in various music festivals around the world, such as the Seiji Ozawa Opera Project, Matsumoto Music Festival, Ettal Summer Academy, Tamba Sasayama Music Festival, etc. He has been taught by musicians such as Seiji Ozawa, Yo-Yo Ma, Nobuko Imai, H. Schlichtig, etc. At the same time, he is also keen on chamber music and has established chamber music cooperation with members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
