Kan Zeyang

Viola / China

Born in 1998, Zeyang Kan has already attracted attention in his home country China by winning a second prize at the International Johannes Brahms Competition and a first prize at the Vladivostok International Young Performer Competition. He studied at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing under Professor Changhai Wang. After completing his bachelor’s degree with top honors at the Central Conservatory, he has been studying since 2021 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Professor Nils Mönkemeyer. Since 2023, he has also been serving as a teaching assistant to Professor Mönkemeyer in Munich.

He has gained extensive stage experience as principal violist of the China National Youth Orchestra and through appearances at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival. Additionally, he serves as a faculty member at the Oberlausitz Chamber Music Festival Academy.He has also participated in the Vevey Spring Classic Festival in Switzerland and the Würzburg Mozartfest.

Zeyang Kan has performed alongside renowned artists such as Dorothee Oberlinger, Reinhard Goebel, and Kit Armstrong. A scholarship to participate in the Schumann Course of the Wilhelm Kempff Foundation in Positano enabled him to collaborate with musicians including William Youn, Julia Fischer,Veronika Eberle ,Eckart Runge, Avi Avital, and Lena Neudauer.

Starting in 2025, he is studying the Konzertexamen degree at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, studying with Professor Nils Mönkemeyer while serving as his assistant. From 2025, he is the member of the Orchestral Academy of the Konzerthaus Berlin Orchester.
