Li Junxi

Violin / China

Junxi Li, 19 years old, is currently studying at the Berlin University of the Arts. He began playing the violin at the age of five, receiving instruction from Ms. Lu Huaqi. At the age of seven, he started studying violin with Professor Zhou Mingen, Head of the Strings Department at the Middle School affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In 2015, at the age of nine, he was admitted to the Elementary School of the Shanghai Conservatory, and in 2018, at the age of twelve, he progressed to the affiliated Middle School, continuing his studies under Professor Zhou Mingen. In 2023, at the age of seventeen, he was admitted to the class of Professor Mo Yi at the Berlin University of the Arts.

He has received the following awards:

  • 2018: First Prize at the 8th Hong Kong International Violin Competition
  • 2019: Second Prize in the Junior Category at the SCC International Youth Violin Competition in Seoul, South Korea
  • 2020: First Prize in Category C at the Manhattan International Music Competition in New York; recipient of the “Yincai-Zhufei” grant from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music
  • 2021: First Prize in the Junior Violin Category at the 2nd International Music Competition in France
  • 2022: Full scholarship to participate in the Morningside Music Bridge in Canada
