Łomozik Jan

Cello / Poland

Jan Łomozik is a Polish cellist. In 2025, he completed his master’s degree at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, where he studied under Dr. habil. Tomasz Daroch and Dr. Wojciech Fudala. He is currently pursuing further master’s studies at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg in the class of Prof. Matthias Bartolomey. He is a laureate of numerous national and international cello competitions. In 2020, he was awarded the Grand Prix and six special prizes at the International Cello Competition in Prague. He is a member of the Vienna-based Morphing Chamber Orchestra and the Vienna Morphing Soloists. He is also the founder of the piano trio The Alpenrose Trio, with which he toured Australia in 2024. As a chamber musician, he performed at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2025, sharing the stage with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma.

Jan has performed in prestigious concert venues, including the Château de Fontainebleau, the concert hall of the Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart, Festspielhaus Salzburg, Eroica Saal in Vienna, Les Invalides in Paris, the Austrian Embassy in Canberra, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre in Brisbane, Wiener Konzerthaus, and the Gewandhaus in Leipzig.

He has appeared at international festivals such as the Mikis Theodorakis Festival on the island of Chios (Greece), Kaposfest in Kaposvár (Hungary), Gabriel Fauré Festival in Salzburg, Johann Strauss Festival in Vienna, and many others. Jan is a recipient of the Young Poland scholarship program and a multiple-time grantee of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. He has collaborated with artists including Valeriy Sokolov, Tim Allhoff, Yuuki Wong, Aleksandra Kurzak, Roberto Alagna, Andreas Scholl, Amandine Savary, and Mateusz Pospieszalski.
