Marina Margheri was born in 2002 in Italy. She completed her pre-academic studies at the Giuseppe Verdi School of Music in Prato, and earned her Bachelor’s degree with top marks at the Fiesole School of Music under the guidance of Vittorio Ceccanti in 2023. In June of this year, she completed her first Master’s degree in cello at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne with top marks, under the guidance of Patrick Demenga, and in September she’ll begin her studies with Joël Marosi at the Hochschule Luzern – Musik.
She won first prize in national and international competitions, like Riviera Etrusca, MusicaInsieme in Asti, and Premio Crescendo.
She has performed as a soloist with the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, the Orchestra di Toscana Classica, and for the Millenials concert season in Pescara.
She stood out in the 2022 National Arts Prize promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture, where she was unanimously awarded the first absolute prize. She has performed in recitals for important associations, like Amici della Musica di Padova, Livorno Music Festival, Amici della Musica di Firenze, and Amici della Musica di Vicchio di Rimaggio.
She’s a member of the Shaboruz Quartet, with which she won the international competition for young string quartets “Farulli 100” in 2020. She has collaborated with renowned artists like Andrea Oliva, Diemut Poppen, Jürgen Franz, Eva Bindere, Anna Serova, Fabrizio Meloni, Alessandro Deljavan, Marco Rizzi, Danilo Rossi, Lorenzo Micheli, Raffaele Mallozzi, Bruno Giuranna, and Alexander Lonquich.
She has collaborated with professional orchestras (likr Orchestra Regionale Toscana) and is a permanent member of the Schweizer Jugend Sinfonie Orchester (with which she played in major halls like the Tonhalle in Zurich under the direction of Johannes Schlaefli) and of the Sinfonische Orchester Schweiz.
