Najman Nauma

Cello / Bulgaria/Belgium

Nauma Najman was born in 2005 in Antwerp, Belgium. She began studying cello at the age of four with Daniela Cherpokova at the National Music School “Lubomir Pipkov” in Sofia, Bulgaria, where she graduated in 2023. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree at the Haute école de musique de Genève – Neuchâtel (HEM) in the class of Professor Denis Severin.

Nauma is a laureate of numerous international competitions, including CellEAST (Bucharest), Davidov International Cello Competition (Latvia), Young Virtuosos (Sofia), the Music of Austria and Germany Competition (Burgas), and Cantus Firmus Competition (Sofia), where she won the Grand Prix. As a soloist, she has performed with the Sofia Soloists Chamber Orchestra, Czech Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Academy of Music in Sofia, Dobrich Chamber Orchestra, and Cantus Firmus Orchestra at Bulgaria Hall.

She has participated in masterclasses and worked with renowned artists including Wen-Sinn Yang, Jens Peter Maintz, Vladimir Perlin, Romain Garioud, Andrei Ionita, Martina Schucan, Stefan Popov, Kiril Rodin, Valentin Radutiu, Jacob Spahn, and László Fenyő. Nauma has also taken part in international academies and festivals such as Musica Mundi (Belgium), ISA (Austria), Allegra Festival (Bulgaria), Music Campus Balchik, CellEAST (Romania), and MAAKSS (Greece). She has given solo and chamber music performances across Europe, including Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Romania, Greece, and Bulgaria.
