Takase Kiko

Violin / Japan

Born in 1998, a violinist from Kobe, Japan. She studied with George Maxman, a student of David Oistrakh, and later with Mauro Iurato. Since 2017, she has studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), receiving inspiration from Prof. Emeritus Michael Frischenschlager. Active in Europe and Japan, appearing in solo, chamber music, and orchestral performances.

At the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University Salzburg, she was selected for numerous concert performances. As a soloist, she performed with the Nara Philharmonic Orchestra in 2016. Her debut solo recital at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center in 2022 drew an audience of around 300 people. As part of the Oradea Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2025 Spring Festival, she performed as a soloist with the orchestra and also gave a solo recital in the same hall.

Her orchestral experience includes projects at the mdw under Orozco-Estrada and Lorenzo Viotti at the Musikverein in Vienna, and with Alain Altinoglu at the Philharmonie de Paris. In 2024, she held leading roles in the European Youth Orchestra Ferruccio Busoni and the Youth Orchestra of the Musikfestival Zell am See. In early 2025, she performed at the Berlin Philharmonie as part of the 49th German-Scandinavian Orchestra Week.

Kiko Takase won second prize at the 3rd Ikaruga Music Competition (2015), the 21st KOBE International Music Competition for Strings (2016), and the 31st Junior Classical Music Competition (2016) in Japan. In Vienna she received first prize at the International Music Competition “Vienna Grand Prize Virtuoso” (2019) and also first prize at the International Music Competition “Città di Alessandria” in Italy (2024).
