Wang Xitong

Violin / China

Xitong Wang was born in Harbin, China. She received her first violin lessons at the age of four in her hometown. Afterwards, she studied at the Middle School affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing under Prof.Xu Lv. In 2017, she began her diploma studies program with major in violin at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. In addition, she took courses focusing on both early and new music, and worked with Alexandra Soumm, Jocelyne Rainer, and Annette Bik. She won the Young Talent Special Prize at the 5th International Vasco Abadjiev Violin Competition in Bulgaria and the 1st Absolute Prize at the Amigdala Live International Competition in Italy. She is currently studying at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT in Weimar in the class of Prof. Kathrin ten Hagen for her master’s degree and is also playing 1.Violin as a member of the academy in Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra. She has attended masterclasses with Thomas Fheodoroff, Vadim Gluzman, Ingolf Turban, Annette von Hehn, and Elisabeth Weber.
