Chenrong Zhang, born in April 2007 in Guangzhou, China, began his violin studies when he was 5 years old. In 2019, he switched to viola, and in 2020, he was admitted to the Music School Attached to the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Prof. Donglei Hou.

In 2024, when he was 16 years old, he embarked on his journey in Europe. He was admitted to the University of Arts Berlin, studying with Prof. Hartmut Rohde. In October 2024, he participated in Kronberg Academy’s “Mit Musik-Miteinander” project, rehearsing with violinist Fumika Mohri, violist Karolina Errera, and cellist Ivan Karizna, and performing at the Casals Forum.
