From 14th to 23rd September 2018 the city of Dabrowa Gornicza once again will host The Michał Spisak International Music Competition. Its 12th edition is open for young musicians from around the world (until the age of 30). It will be held in three instrumental categories: bassoon, horn and double bass. The competition is organized by Zagłębie Palace of Culture, the City Hall of Dabrowa Gornicza and The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.
The 12th Michał Spisak International Music Competition consists of three stages. In the last, final stage participants will play with Zabrze Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Sławomir Chrzanowski. Musicians will be judged by professional musicians and teachers from both Polish and foreign Academies and Universities of Music.
Our competition is organized not only to popularize classical music and its heritage, promote promising young artists, but also to commemorate brilliant neoclassicist composer born in Dabrowa Gornicza – Michal Spisak – one of the greatest polish composers of the XXth century.
