The Competition is officially open!

15 September 2021

The grand opening of the 13. Michał Spisak International Music Competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza! There are three stages of auditions ahead of us, a Concert of the Carion Quintet, mini-concerts of the participants and the Concert of Laureates – all until September 23!

Yesterday we solemnly inaugurated the 13th edition of the Michał Spisak International Music Competition in the Zagłębie Palace of Culture and in the city of Dąbrowa Górnicza. It all started with the symbolic unveiling of a mural with the image of the composer at 3 Maja 22 Street, combined with a concert of the participants of the previous editions of the competition. An hour later, i.e. at 5:00 p.m., took place the vernissage of the post-competition poster exhibition, during which we selected the winning graphic designers from Silesian universities. Their works can be admired until October 15 at the PKZ Art Gallery. The culmination of the day was the official opening gala combined with an excellent concert performed by the Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra under the baton of Marek Wroniszewski and soloists Vitor Fernandes and Paweł Cal. The concert took place in front of a live audience, and was also broadcast live on the social media of the competition. The audience had the opportunity to hear not only Michał Spisak’s Concerto giocoso, but also concertos by Mozart, Kurpiński, Lutosławski’s Dance Preludes and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Sheherezade. The concert announcer was Ewa Niewiadomska.
