Professor of musical arts, pianist, composer, arranger, conductor, producer and multi-instrumentalist, graduate of the Bydgoszcz Music Academy in the piano class of J. Sulikowski and K. Popowa-Zydroń. Lecturer, currently he runs his own jazz piano class at the Faculty of Jazz, Conducting and Music Education at his home academy. In 2022, he was appointed as an expert to the Commission for the Evaluation of Science, at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. He is a versatile, intensely active artist, successfully combining activities in the fields of classical, jazz and pop music, as a composer of contemporary music, orchestrator of film music, symphonic conductor, jazz pianist, chamber pianist, songwriter, record producer and academic lecturer. He has extensive experience in performance (piano, conducting) and recording, with symphony orchestras, chamber orchestras and chamber ensembles in Poland and abroad. He has collaborated with the greatest stars of the Polish stage – both classical and pop singers. He has conducted over 40 outstanding orchestras in Poland and abroad. As an arranger and conductor, he prepared an unprecedented project in the headquarters of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) with the participation of Tomasz Stańko, the RGG trio and the NOSPR orchestra. In the early 1990s, under the wings of the doyens of Polish jazz: J. P. Wróblewski and J. Muniak, he performed in their bands. He also played in Z. Namysłowski’s band. He has performed and recorded with world stars including M. Schneider, B. Marsalis, G. Mareem and many others. He has given concerts as a jazzman and as a chamber musician in dozens of countries around the world. He performed four times in Warsaw’s Congress Hall at the Jazz Jamboree festival. Over the course of his nearly 30-year career, as a pianist he has been associated with several jazz formations, including M. Napiórkowski’s sextet, the bands of E. Geppert, A.M. Jopek, D. Miśkiewicz, M. Szcześniak and many others. His talent as an orchestrator and arranger has been used by film composers such as Jan A. P. Kaczmarek, S. Syrewicz, H. Seroka, and others. He orchestrated J. A. P. Kaczmarek’s 2005 Oscar-winning music for the film “Finding Neverland”. He has recorded over 21 albums. As a pianist, conductor, composer and arranger he has participated in the recording of more than 200 CDs. He has received 19 Golden Records (as an arranger of jazz and pop compositions). He is the first Polish composer to have recorded the monographic album “Suite On Polish Themes” with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields for the London DECCA label. He has been a juror in over a dozen pop music competitions. As a radio editor, he hosts his own broadcast on Program 2 Polskiego Radia. Currently, he leads his own Trio, Big Band and performs solo. He is the composer of more than 30 contemporary compositions. His Sonata for Trumpet and Piano was included in the programme of the 14th Michał Spisak International Music Competition. He has won dozens of national and international artistic prizes in the field of jazz composition, artistic achievements, and has been nominated for the Fryderyk and Mateusz awards several times. He was awarded the “Gloria Artis” Silver Medal.
