KRZYSZTOF TOMCZYK

He is a graduate of the K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice in the class of Professor Wiesław Grochowski. Prior to that, he attended the M. J. Żebrowski Music School Complex in Częstochowa, studying under the guidance of Maryla Limanowska, M.A.. He was twice a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the Mayor of the City of Częstochowa. He is currently the first horn player at the NOSPR, also acting as section leader. He is a member of several chamber ensembles based on the musicians of this orchestra. He has won numerous prizes at national and international competitions, including 2nd prize in the 2nd Polish Nationwide Competition for French Horn Players (Łódź 2009), 1st Prize (2nd prize was not awarded) in the 2nd National Brass Instruments Competition (Katowice 2010), 1st prize (2nd prize was not awarded) in the 5th Michał Spisak International Music Competition (Dąbrowa Górnicza 2011) and 1st  prize in the 9th Warsaw Wind Ensemble Competition in the Classical Quintet category (Warsaw 2012).
