Grzegorz Biegas

Graduate of the Lipiński State Music School in Lublin in the piano class of Professor Mieczysław Dawidowicz, and the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice – diploma in the piano class of Professor Eugeniusz Knapik and chamber music of Professor Maria Szwajger-Kułakowska. In 2002, he completed postgraduate studies in the piano class of Professor Józef Stompel. Currently, at his home university, he is the Professor at the Department of Chamber Music. His artistic activity focuses mainly on chamber music, with a particular emphasis on vocal literature. He has extensive experience as a tutor and pedagogue. He has performed at home and abroad as a chamber musician and, as an accompanist he has accompanied soloists in many competitions, where he has been repeatedly awarded for the best accompaniment – he has received, among others, the J. Lefeld Special Prize. From 2005 to 2012 he was the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Vocal and Instrumental Studies, and from 2012 to 2016 Vice-Rector of the K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.
