Graduated from the Faculty of Music at the University of Segedin in 2001. During his studies he successfully took part in national competitions several times. Subsequently, he was admitted to the Freiburg College as one of the students of the world-famous musician, Branimir Slokar. He was awarded the Berlin Radio Symphony scholarship. One of the highlights of Gyivicsan’s career was winning the international competition in Porcia (Italy) in December 2003. At the invitation of Branimir Slokar, he became a perpetual member of the Slokar Quartet in 2004. Since then, they have made numerous CD recordings and he has played many concerts around the world. In 2005, he obtained his soloist diploma from the University of Bern. He then began teaching at the University of Segedin as a professor of trombone. He is regularly invited to give concerts and teach courses in countries such as Portugal, Italy, Austria, Germany, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, Slovenia and the USA. In September 2010, he was a visiting professor in New York. He also led a masterclass in Argentina in Santa Fe at the “Trombonanza” series courses in 2013, where he was also invited for 2015 edition. Together with his students, he founded the Szeged Trombone Ensemble and gave many concerts. In 2013, he obtained the DLA Diploma at the Music Doctoral School at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest. He is currently a lecturer at this university.
