AUKSO. Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy

One of the best chamber orchestras in Europe, founded by a group of graduates of the Academy of Music in Katowice together with Marek Moś. AUKSO is a valued interpreter of the works of Polish composers – it has to its credit numerous albums with repertoire by Grażyna Bacewicz, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Witold Lutosławski, Wojciech Kilar and Zbigniew Preisner, among others. It also successfully records film music by world-famous composers such as Elliot Goldenthal, or soundtracks for computer games. Of particular interest to AUKSO is the border zone – combining classical with jazz, alternative music. In this area AUKSO has collaborated with such musical personalities as Leszek Możdżer, Tomasz Stańko, Urszula Dudziak, Michał Urbaniak and the Motion Trio. AUKSO is a laureate of the Phonographic Academy Award “Fryderyk 2011” in the category “The most outstanding recording of Polish music” for the album “CHOPIN. Wydanie Narodowe.”
